Outreach & Community Programming

Tech For Seniors

The COVID-19 crisis has isolated many of the older adults we work with. As one of the ways we are working to restore a sense of connection, we have a limited amount of Tablets that we are able to provide to older adults in need of a device. Some funding is also available for internet access. For more information or to request this assistance, please email us or request services online.

Programs & Services at Senior Living Communities

JFS volunteers invite older adults living in more than 12 senior communities to attend Shabbat services at their communities on a monthly basis. JFS also facilitates a variety of holiday and outreach activities at senior communities. To learn when is the next service, visit our calendar.

Holiday Outreach

JFS coordinates several Holiday and Shabbat outreach efforts to provide families and individuals in need the experience and opportunity of Jewish traditions when they may not be able to take part in the greater community. Whether they are home bound, isolated or have a financial need, JFS is here to provide the Jewish connection. Among these are catered Kosher-style Shabbat and holiday meals, a Chanukah Gift Drive, holidays outreach bags and cards and more.

If you are an older adult (60+) living in Wake County and would like to be added to our holiday outreach list (no cost!), please fill out THIS FORM.

Community Events and Programs

Our workshops and programs cater to populations of all ages and stages of life. Along with topics relating to parenting, mental health and well-being, and older adults issues, we organize and coordinate programs relating to the entire community on social action, volunteerism and more. To learn about our upcoming programs, please visit our calendar. Due to COVID19, community programs are offered virtually.

Good Deeds Day

Good Deeds Day is an annual tradition of good deeds. All over the world, hundreds of thousands choose to volunteer and help others, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world. In 2019, Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services marked its 5th year coordinating and leading this day. In 2021, more than 380 volunteers from the Raleigh-Cary Jewish community participated in in-person, at-home and drive-thru projects to better the Triangle community. Learn more here.
