Join JFS as we shed light on anxiety and teens, and how parents and community members can support teenagers. We will talk about preventative strategies, how to identify anxiety in teens at home and at school, community resources and much more. We will be joined by two experts to get further guidance on this important topic.
About the Speakers:
Eli Jerchower, Psy.D - Dr. Jerchower provides testing and therapy for children and adolescents with a variety of difficulties. He has special interests in behavioral and compliance issues, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), parenting issues, learning disorders (LD), anxiety, teen issues, divorce and childhood depression. Dr. Jerchower especially enjoys helping parents to create a supportive and loving, yet structured and disciplined family environment.
Lauren Weaver, School Counselor, Heritage High School - As a school counselor, Lauren is an advocate for each student in reaching their full potential and goals- academic, personal/social, and/or career. She uses collaboration and consultation with teachers, counselors, other school staff, parents, and community members to help each student. Lauren thinks of her position as a trampoline for students - meaning that she is available to "catch them when they fall" and also uses her skills as a school counselor to enable them to "bounce higher" than where they were before.
