Recipe Roundup for the JFS Food Pantry
Do you make a hearty bean soup? What about a favorite tuna noodle casserole? JFS invites you submit your recipes into the first ever Recipe Roundup for the JFS Food Pantry. Your recipe submissions will help JFS build a recipe bank of delicious, kosher-style recipes that include two or more common pantry ingredients.
Typical ingredients in a food pantry bag include:
Pasta
Tomato sauce
Canned vegetables or fruit
Canned beans
Packaged soup or broth
Peanut butter, jam/jelly,
Fruit juice
Low sugar cereal
Sharing your recipes that feature low-cost pantry items will help bring awareness to the JFS food pantry and the larger issue of food insecurity. These recipes will be shared with the Raleigh-Cary Jewish community via the JFS website, social media channels and printed recipe guides that will be included in pantry bags for clients.
Please click here for more information and to submit a recipe. Recipes will be accepted January 21 – February 28, 2021.
We also invite you to share photos, stories about the recipe and even short cooking demonstrations (under two minutes). Please upload these submissions by clicking on this LINK.
Please consider making a donation to the JFS Food Pantry. Community need is greater than ever – food pantry distribution tripled in size in 2020. Your gift is greatly appreciated.
You may also drop off food on Mondays or Fridays in the drop box located outside of the office.
For any questions about this event, please email JFS Outreach & Programs Manager, Dina Stambler.
