Navigating the Uncertainty of a Changing School Year during Covid-19

The Name of The Game - It’s Gonna Change

Navigating the Uncertainty of a Changing School Year during Covid-19

As we cope with this pandemic, one thing we can count is change and the stresses these changes bring.  We don’t have a how to guide to help us navigate.  Most of us are winging it, doing the best we can with the information we get, information that keeps changing and, most likely, will continue to change for months to come.

As parents, the challenges of balancing everyone’s needs at home have never been more difficult.   And now, a new school year is beginning.  But what this looks like today, may not be how it will look tomorrow.  How can we prepare our children and help them move forward when we can’t be sure what to prepare for?

In this program, Karen Rabins, a licensed clinical social worker- will talk about how to navigate through all the uncertainty by discussing your questions and concerns, talking about ways to create a flexible mindset for you and your children to help you stay grounded when nothing around you feels anchored.  She will also talk about the importance of self-care to help you manage your full plates.

Karen is a community volunteer and not speaking as a representative of the WCPSS.  If you are interested in information about WCPSS School Opening Plans, please contact your child’s school or go the WCPSS website.
