JFS Staying Connected

Staying Connected, a new virtual group for older adults

facilitated by Abby Palmer, MSW, JFS Senior Services Social Worker

Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom*, Starting August 5

this program is intended for 6 sessions but may be extended depending on group feedback.

As human beings, we are wired to be social.  Whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, we all need to connect. For older adults, social isolation and loneliness are risk factors for increased medical issues as well as depression and anxiety.

If you are feeling isolated and in need of social connection during this time of uncertainty, please consider joining our Staying Connected group.

We’ll help you get set up using Zoom and meet weekly to have an opportunity to talk about how we’re coping, learn new strategies to help manage and to just connect.  You are not alone, JFS is here for you.

There is no charge for this group, but registration is required. The group is limited to 8 participants.

*If you do not have a laptop or tablet, JFS may be able to provide you with a device and training.

For any questions or more information, please email JFS Outreach & Programs Manager, Dina Stambler.

The Older Adult Case Management programs are funded (in part) with a grant from Carolina Foundation for Jewish Seniors along with its commitment to enriching the lives of Jewish adults in North and South Carolina.
